HEBE DIOSMIFOLIA

There are lots of hybrid species of hebe, but diosmifolia is one of the pure species. It's one of the earliest Hebes to flower starting in early spring with masses of white to light mauve flowers. It will grow to around 1.5 metres, and looks good either as a filler in your garden, or in large groups. Be careful not to prune it too hard, as it won't recover, so just a very light prune after flowering to keep its compact shape is all it needs. It will grow well in any soil, except water-logged soil, and can be fed once a year with an all-purpose plant food.
