High-QualityResidential Landscaping | Waikato | $30–$45 per hour

Are you an experienced landscaper or leading hand who takes real pride in doing things properly?

Groundcover Landscaping is looking for a capable Landscaping Foreman or experienced Leading Hand to help run high-quality residential landscaping projects across the Waikato.

This is a hands-on/on-site leadership role for someone who enjoys quality work, clear standards, good clients, and being part of a professional team that genuinely cares about the finished result.

You will not be left to carry everything on your own. You will be supported by a Project Manager, an organised office team, and a business that has been building its reputation for more than 20 years.

About Us

Groundcover Landscaping is an established Waikatolandscaping company specialising in high-quality residential landscaping andoutdoor living projects.

Our work includes:

  • Decking
  • Retaining walls
  • Fencing and screens
  • Paving, concrete and hard landscaping
  • Planting and garden installations
  • Outdoor living spaces
  • Full landscape construction projects
  • We also have a dedicated garden maintenance team

About the Role

As Foreman, you will help lead projects on site and make sure each job is delivered safely, efficiently and to the Groundcover standard.

You will be involved in:

  • Running landscaping projects from start to finish
  • Leading and supporting the site team
  • Reading plans and organising daily workflow
  • Managing materials, timing and site coordination
  • Communicating professionally with clients and the wider team
  • Maintaining quality, safety and site presentation standards
  • Helping create finished projects the whole team can be proud of
Who We’re Looking For

This role would suit someone who is already an experienced landscaping foreman or leading hand and is ready for a strong long-term opportunity with a respected company.

You will ideally have experience with:

  • Leading or supervising a small team on site
  • Landscape construction
  • Deck construction
  • Retaining walls
  • Fencing
  • Paving and hard landscaping
  • Planting and soft landscaping
  • Site preparation
  • Working from plans
  • Managing workflow and site standards
You will also need:
  • A reliable hard-working attitude
  • Pride in your workmanship
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A full, clean NZ driver's licence
  • The right to work in New Zealand

Here’s what we need from you:

Proven work history in a landscaping role with experience in most of the following:

  • Decking
  • Fences
  • Retaining walls
  • Paving
  • Excavation and base preparation
  • Planting and plant knowledge
  • Concreting skills and digger operating would be great but not imperative

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Running projects from start to finish
  • Managing timelines, materials and site coordination
  • Maintaining site safety and quality standards
  • Leading by example and setting the tone on-site
  • Representing our company professionally at all times

You also need:

  • A hardworking, reliable, can-do attitude
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Leading Hand or Foreman
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a team on-site
  • Strong understanding of landscape construction processes
  • Ability to read and interpret plans accurately
  • High attention to detail and pride in workmanship
  • Strong communication skills (clients, suppliers and crew)
  • Full, clean NZ driver’s licence
  • The right to work in New Zealand
